Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) helps the brain and body heal from overwhelming experiences that get “stuck” in the nervous system.

  • Focuses on:

Processing trauma, anxiety, grief, and the lingering impact of painful memories — even when you can’t find the words to explain them.

  • Helpful for:

People who feel trapped in old patterns, stuck in fight-or-flight, or weighed down by past experiences that still shape how they think, feel, and react.

  • How it works:

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (like eye movements, tapping, or sound) to help your brain reprocess distressing memories so they lose their emotional charge. It helps your nervous system complete what it couldn’t at the time — moving from reaction to resolution.

  • What to expect in an EMDR session:

In sessions, we go at your pace. We start with a really good plan- which may take 1-2 sessions to develop. Then we start reprocessing using bilateral stimulation. You’ll stay grounded and aware while we gently work with past experiences, noticing what comes up in your body and mind. Over time, what once felt charged or painful starts to feel more distant, integrated, and neutral — freeing up energy for the present moment.
